Jewelry Vibration

We are rowers and we make rowing themed jewelry, among other things.  We are like groupies in the spring traveling every single weekend in April, May, June going to regattas all over the country, preferably on nice weather days, sometimes not so nice.  This spring the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, usually held in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, was following a week of such tremendous downpours that the regatta committee feared cancellation was inevitable. I was filled with anxiety starting the Monday before the event, watching the rain, viewing the continued rainy forecast for the weekend.  Who wants to buy jewelry in the cold...

Some of you may know our 2 dogs: India and Remo.  The chocolate lab India was introduced to Rubini Jewelers 16 years ago as a tiny little 8 week old handful...she was delivered to me by my mom in the midst of our Saturday rush, so probably everyone present in the store that day got to hold her in their hand (she was that small). The more living I get done, the more I recognize that although some things cost more, the absolute biggest determination of value is sentiment.  That means deep down, if you love a piece of jewelry for whatever reason, be it a piece of costume jewelry or a 5 carat diamond, then they have essentially the same intrinsic value.  The loss of either would be equivalently painful, simply for the fact that the item embodied a memory or a feeling for you. Thankfully, we can control our brains and thoughts and feelings and eventually it is possible to transfer the same 'aura'...

I'm pretty sure all of us have an addiction to something.  Some people are addicted to consuming substances: drugs, alcohol, sweets, french fries, cigarettes, coconut oil (don't laugh- I've been there), nuts (a tough one to break!) And some people are addicted to activities: exercise, shopping, sex, gambling, reading, meditating, cleaning...And most are addicted to a combination of things.  WHY? It ultimately comes down to our seeking a feeling.  What feeling?  Well duh- we just want to feel GOOD.  That is the ultimate quest in life.  It's why we do it all: why we exercise. or why we sit on...

We at Rubini Jewelers are, duh...jewelers.  Ring resizing is all in a day's work for us.  So if you spent the holidays over-indulging (like, ahem, moi), this can easily be solved with some handy work by our craftsmen here.  And if you have plans and New Year's resolutions to shed the holiday weight, and are hesitant to resize your rings just yet, you can go the route of the ring guard and wear the ring on a smaller finger.  What the heck? It's better than not wearing them at all...and then you are not investing much into the adjustment. But...
