Nickel and Silver Allergies and How to Cope: a Joanna Rubini Perspective
Of late, more and more folks are coming in with ring rot, without the usually cause of white gold ring.  We are seeing platinum rings that fit comfortably, that are still resulting in an allergic reaction on the wearer's finger.  Luckily, one of these customers actually went to a dermatologist and got tested to see what she was allergic to.  It was 2 very multi-syllabic chemical words...found in soap!  So hand washing is great, but if you have a sensitive system (see above re digestive health) then you might want to steer well clear of the chemical-laden soaps that are everywhere.  Maybe just try good old baking soda-coconut oil-tea tree oil combo? It's anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and artificial chemical-free.  When you wash your hands and synthetic chemicals get caught within the backside of your ring, you too might have a reaction.  It's an easy fix, either way :o)

Peck a Purple Pout

Peck a purple what?  OHhhh- kiss a purple mouth! Obviously ;o) Purple is the color of the month- halfway between calm blue and energetic red, it has the power to excite a calm mind or relax an energetic one.  For this reason it is associated with creativity and royalty.  It helps focus the wearer who may be frenetically thoughtful, but the influence of blue in the purple quiets the frenzy to a manageable roar that provides focus instead. The theory of the...

What the Athletes are Wearing

Final comments: the bulk of jewelry worn at the 2016 Rio Olympics is definitely by the track & field set.  Earrings, necklaces and bracelets, Oh My! On men and women- we love it. The most popular item, for those of you aiming for a sporty but adorned look?  Is hands down stud earrings.  They won't get caught in your racket, or snag while passing your baton, or hook on a close proximity bar.  Practically perfect jewelry- the ear stud, good for men, women, athletes and fans.

Train hard and look good! Thanks for an entertaining and awesome 2016 Rio Olympics
